This season Orla heads back to the University Library. Inspired by Ali MacGraw in the film Love Story, the collection combines late 60’s preppy with an early 70’s romantic look. Maths and geometry are the main inspirations for the pattern and print. Geometric shapes make up the Ballroom Dancing prints and graph paper checks are seen in varying sizes to create a bold aesthetic. Orla’s initials are used geometrically for the ‘OK’ print which features on clothing and accessories. Key items such as the belted wool trench coat and flowing maxi dresses give that seventies feeling with boxier style jackets and skirts in mohair fabrics. Leather accessories are worked into extreme scales from supersized frame bag in a giant printed grid check to the cute mini box backpack with signature all over punching. It may all be quiet in the library, but this bold bright collection is anything but that. StyleCard holders save 10% on the AW15 collection online and in the Covent Garden and Kings Road stores from September 1st to November 22nd. This is better than OK.
