Trends: Lace Up Your Winter
POSTED ON- 14 November, 2012 BY:StyleCard
AW12 sees lace strongly holding the scene from last year. Judging from the runways around the world, lace mixed with bouclé wool and tweed, promises to light up both this, and next, Winter. When it comes to the high street, this must-have Autumn trend moves from classic black lace dresses to more sportive and urban attires. Tap into this season’s opulent trend with sheer lace insets at the shoulder or at the back of sweatshirts, or lace overlay shorts.
On the tennis court, Maria Sharapova pioneered sportswear chic. Now, Giuliorf exploits this trend in fashion, introducing pile weave into the casual, hooded sweatshirt, and creating a seductive undercurrent by adding silk and lace into the mix. The matching miniskirt, too, takes inspiration from the courts, with a satin underlay in the form of culottes. Typically, culottes are worn long on tennis courts and golf courses. Here, they serve as a petticoat, combining playfulness with practicality. This is a versatile look, allowing you to combine different elements for different occasions. The skirt and top can be worn with an elegant jumper to create a sophisticated work outfit, or the hoody can be paired with jeans for a more informal look. Equally, you can opt for full satin chic, perfect for a summer picnic!
