Men’s Monday: StyleCard Stylist – Summer Vests
POSTED ON- 8 July, 2013 BY:StyleCard
The vest is almost a must-have for the summer, whether worn just in your garden or on the beach when we are blessed with warm weather you would be lost without one. For this look select a vest in a heavier fabric that is not too viscose and in a tonal colour that is versatile so that it can be paired with various garments rather than just one colour or cut. Similarly do not select a vest with a neckline that is too deep, the lightweight viscose vests are best for the height of summer whereas the slightly more durable heavier vests are a casual but slick piece throughout the year.
The vest looks well put together with a classic pair of chinos and desert boots finished with a sporty outerwear piece such as a varsity or bomber jacket but will also look perfect with some well fitted Slim-fit Jeans. If you choose to pair your vest with jeans, lift the look with a statement outwear piece (camouflage is the obvious choice for this season as it is a huge menswear trend) and some statement smart-casual trainers to lift the look and create a smarter finish. For an easy to wear look simply pair the vest with some basic turn up shorts in a neutral colour and classic pumps, team with a classic pullover should you need it.
