Daily Outfit: Hello, Sailor.
POSTED ON- 5 September, 2013 BY:StyleCard
Navy and white, an ever-winning colour combination, always brings to mind the French Riviera and all things nautical. Not to take this too literally, but upon seeing James Lakeland’s bi-colour dress, we immediately thought ‘sailor outfit’. But not in a bad way. And especially not in the sexy hen-party way. Yes, the colours and shape both indicate the seaside, but this dress is definitely destined to remain on land – the subtle pleating and boat neckline, (no pun intended), are pure style. Anyway, Bestival’s dedicated theme this year was the sea – so if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for us. As always, for some reason gold goes much better with navy and white than silver does. Don’t be afraid to introduce some colour, either – the neutral base is ideal for a bright shoe or bag. Mel Boteri’s apple red slouchy bag is particularly juicy. Chatham Marine’s solid deck shoes in chestnut will add a mannish edge to the look.
