Daily Outfit: The Real Smart/Casual
POSTED ON- 4 September, 2013 BY:StyleCard
Who says you need an office job to work smart casual? Certainly not us. Don’t limit yourself to slouchy jerseys when there’s a whole world of clean lines and silhouettes in fresh fabrics. We’re not suggesting you don a pencil skirt for the cinema, but introducing elements of structure into your wardrobe will inject a new lease of life into old favourites. For example, Jeetly’s whiter-than-white peplum top adheres to curves whilst maintaining its peplum shape, thanks to the fabric and cut. Close-fitting sleeves and a conservative v-neck provide thoughtful detailing. Make sure it’s washed and ironed properly, though. This is one top that won’t let you get away with creases and stains. Try Anna Scott’s printed trousers to strike the smart/casual balance on the top and bottom halves – faded denim won’t quite cut it with Jeetly’s dapper peplum blouse. Xti’s bright loafers from Rubber Sole mix jade and tan with chain detailing for a look that’s pure class, and a little unexpected. Which sums up the whole look in general, really.
