After much anticipation, the first hotel from restaurateurs Jeremy King and Chris Corbin officially opens its doors this week. The duo, whose portfolio of popular London establishments includes The Wolseley, Brasserie Zedel, Colbert, The Delauney and Fischer’s, open The Beaumont, an hotel which evokes the golden-age elegance and hospitality of pre-war Mayfair. The hotel has 73 rooms, including 23 suites and the now-famous ROOM, a suite in an inhabitable sculpture by British artist Antony Gormley. In addition are the Colony Grill Room, The Cub Room and the American Bar, the latter specialising in Bourbons and American whiskies, with all cocktails strictly only shaken or stirred. Hotel guests can use the sleek gymnasium, hammam steam room and spa, where massages and facials use the excellent Aromatherapy Associates oils. Expect grandeur and elegance at every turn.
