The Hoxton in Shoreditch has just opened a sister hotel. It is, rather confusingly, also called The Hoxton, but this one is in Holborn. It’s just as hip. Rooms come with names like Shoebox, Snug, Comfy and Roomy, each with free Wi-Fi, an hour of phone calls, fresh milk, tea and coffee, and a daily breakfast bag filled with OJ, a granola pot and a banana. When it comes to restaurants, The Hoxton, Holborn has it licked. On the ground floor is Hubbard & Bell, a Brooklyn-style grill serving breakfast to supper run in partnership with Soho House Group. In the basement there’s Chicken Shop (also from Soho House Group) for fresh rotisserie chicken and healthy sides. And then there’s Holborn Grind, a coffee bar famed for its creamy cappuccinos and strong espressos. To celebrate the opening of the hotel, immersive theatre show ‘The Backstage Tour’ will take place within its walls for one night only on Thursday October 16, with a special mystery cast of big names, after which guests are invited to stay in one of the hotel’s new bedrooms (the concept of ‘play and stay’ is all the rage these days). Get a roomy.
