A handy 2 minutes walk from Earl’s Court tube station, The Kensington Quarter café, restaurant, bar and deli opens tomorrow inside Hotel Indigo, which is part of InterContinental Hotels Group. In an area that lacks any decent cafés, this is a welcome addition to the area. It is the fifth branch of the famous Quarter restaurants from duo Doran and Valeria Zilkha; sister venues include Royal, Heal’s, Chelsea and River. Expect simple and healthy dishes for breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner lead by Head Chef, Riad Zailuk (Oxo Tower Brasserie, Le Pont de la Tour, The Phene). For dinner, for example, there’s Colchester rock oysters, butternut squash risotto, lobster roll or grilled Dover Sole, followed by Valhrona Chocolate Fondant or Lemon Meringue Pie. The Kensington Quarter also houses a deli; find organic juices, Doisy & Dam organic chocolate and London-made Dodd’s Gin. With such a trusted heritage, you know it’s all going to be good.
